The Game Developers Conference 2025 Experience

Hosted from March 17th–21st, this year’s GDC saw developers around the world join together in San Francisco to share their knowledge and ideas across five jam-packed days. From panels and discussions to meetups and summits, the spirit of community and passion filled each session, leaving REDs looking forward to the future — and next year’s GDC. Following last year’s first look at The Witcher 4 with a cinematic trailer at The Game Awards, our developers were also humbled to hear the excitement from fellow devs and attendees for what we’re creating next!
We’re proud to say that CD PROJEKT RED was represented with nine talks.
- Unlocking Hidden Value: UX Behind the Final Product, the CDPR Way by our Senior UX/UI Designer, Anna Nojek
- The Witcher 3 REDkit: Lessons Learned Bringing an In-House Engine to the Public by our Publishing Producer, Oleg Shatulo, and the Lead of the Yigsoft team Bence Hambalko
- Designing Endings and Balancing Player Expectations: Illustrated by the Epilogue of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty by our Cinematic Design Acting Lead Paweł Ochocki
- How Managing Dependencies for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Led to Smooth Production and a Successful Release by our Transformation Director, Konrad Grzegory
- How to Build a Game World with Systems and Story by our Lead Writer Anna Megill together with Emily Short, independent Narrative Consultant, and Kaitlin Tremblay, Narrative Director at Soft Rains
- Cyberpunk 2077: Hacking the Secrets of Its Cinematic Animation by our Cinematic Animation Lead, David Cordero Iglesias
- Vehicle Audio in Cyberpunk 2077: All About the Players by our Sound Designer, Adam Dyrszka, and Senior Sound Designer, Michał Pukała
- Heat, MaxTac, and Blockades: Expanding the Police System in Cyberpunk 2077 by our Senior Engineer, AI, Michał Celmer
- The Impact of Implementing Core Values by our Engineering Director, Management and Audio, Colin Walder, and Senior HR Partner, Marta Woźniak
We’re so grateful for every conversation, connection, and question.

Here’s what some of our REDs had to say:
“This GDC reminded me that the best part of games isn’t technology or knowledge — it’s people... The games community is strong and vibrant. It was a joy catching up with old colleagues and meeting new friends.”
— Anna Megill, Lead Writer
“The energy at GDC was super positive. I was impressed by the presentations I attended... People are raising the bar and sharing their knowledge; it’s inspiring stuff.”
— Colin Walder, Engineering Director, Management and Audio
“What I loved about GDC was the chance to meet UX designers from around the world, and to share experiences from our field. The heartfelt conversations after my talk truly moved me, showing how deeply our work can resonate with fellow game devs.”
— Anna Nojek, Senior UX/UI Designer

As we look ahead to the future, we can’t help but be motivated by our time at GDC: the many sessions we attended, the ideas & knowledge we shared, and the words of encouragement we heard from fellow attendees.
To our REDs, everyone we met at GDC, and to our entire community: thank you!
