Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Gameplay Designer to join the CD PROJEKT RED team dedicated to crafting the studio’s first-ever original IP and video game, codenamed Project Hadar. We believe the universe we are creating is one bursting with limitless potential, and we want you to help us broaden and utilize it, making sure it not only matches gamers’ high expectations set by past CD PROJEKT RED titles but exceeds them.

Daily responsibilities

  • Proposing and documenting an innovative design for systems and features that follows the game direction. 
  • Iterating and improving documentation for existing systems and features.
  • Designing, prototyping, scripting, iterating on features using a Unreal Engine 5. 
  • Working in multidisciplinary teams on prototyping and implementing stages, ensuring that the gameplay functionality, combat systems, as well as the overall gameplay experience are carried through to completion in the highest possible quality.
  • Taking ownership of specific features/systems of the game. 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional programming experience in the games industry.
  • Experience in successfully shipping at least one game.
  • Expertise in C++ coding principles and practices, with experience in Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
  • Strong understanding of game engine architecture, algorithms, and multi-threaded systems.
  • Advanced experience with designing and implementing gameplay systems (e.g., AI, physics, combat).
  • Solid debugging skills and experience resolving complex technical issues.
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio and tools pipelines to enhance developer workflows.
  • Openness to receiving and giving feedback about your work.
  • Mentoring experience. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to taking ownership, setting goals, exchanging knowledge and driving initiatives independently.
  • Passion for professional growth and staying updated on industry trends.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Openness for changes & experimentation, high-quality passion and a good sense of humor are appreciated!

Additional Information

Working mode

  • Relocation to Warsaw is required.
  • Office-First: working primarily from the Warsaw studio in a full time or hybrid mode.
