It's Been 20 Years Since We Set Up the Official
Community!
On September 1st, 2004, the first message on our Official Forums appeared. Since then, our community kept growing and expanding. We opened new channels, in a total of 11 languages, to better connect with local communities around the world.

When you’re in good company and having fun, time doesn’t just fly — it jets by at supersonic speed! We still can’t quite believe that it’s been a whole 20 years since CD PROJEKT RED’s community came to be, but we’re here for it, and we’re so glad that so many of you are too!

Of course, an occasion as grand as this doesn’t come around every year, so when it does, you’ve got to commemorate it appropriately. We started out on September 1st by reminiscing about where, or rather when, it all started — September 1st, 2004 — and how it evolved over the past two decades. That’s when the very first post was created on our official CD PROJEKT RED forums, kicking off a 20-year-long run that grew to more and more platforms, including global ones such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter (now X), Instagram, Discord, and TikTok, as well as many local ones, unique to given regions and countries. And what naturally followed with each and every platform we’ve added to our roster was the growth of our community (we’re now more than 15 million strong!), with whom we are now connected in 11 languages, engaging in a variety of activities — from news, discussions, videos, streams, and podcasts to sharing your creations and organizing contests across many disciplines, and much more! We literally couldn’t have achieved this without you. Thank you so much for following us and the support you’ve shown us over the years!

Back in September we invited you to join us for a very special anniversary REDstreams episode, hosted as always by Amelia Kołat and Alicja Kozera from our Community Team, and featuring special guests — Marcin Momot, CDPR’s Global Community Director, Maja “undomiel9” Winarska, veteran (18 years!) moderator of the CDPR forums, as well as Basia “crushovitz” Krasowicz, active community member and admin of several of CDPR’s unofficial Polish community groups. We chatted for just over an hour, touching on all things community — how this beautiful and storied journey started for all of our guests, the growth and evolution that took place from back at the beginning to the present day, everyone’s personal, community-related stories, and more! If you haven’t watched it yet, the full episode is available on our YouTube channel right now.

We also have a special video featuring our amazing team of moderators, who play an integral part in managing the day-to-day of all of our channels, sharing their Tales from the Community.

We also asked you what your fondest memories associated with CD PROJEKT RED and our games were, and we’re so grateful for the stories — short and long, engrossing, emotional, full of passion, raw — you’ve shared with us so far. Here’s to making even more fantastic memories together in the years to come!

But what’s a birthday celebration without presents — are we right, or are we right? We organized a special contest for our community over at Discord and the Official Forums that tasked them with becoming poets and creating a short composition themed around our studio, community, and games. And so, pens (and keyboards!) went to battle with words, the results being verses that brought joy to our hearts. Future authors, if we ever do another competition like this, are advised to check the name of our studio for spelling errors, though. ;) If you’d like to check the submissions out, head on over to any of our Discord channels, as well as the forums, where you’ll find them in their dedicated rooms/threads.

Last but certainly not least, on September 28th, we held a 20 Years of Community party at our Warsaw HQ, inviting 40 of the most active members of the Polish side of our Discord and forums community to celebrate this momentous occasion. It was a day and evening full of heartfelt meetings and reunions, spirited speeches and discussions spanning two decades of history, as well as hours of engaging activities and competitions, breathtaking presents and surprises (including guest appearances by Julia Sadowa, the Polish voice of V, and Marta Żmuda Trzebiatowska, the Polish voice of Judy from Cyberpunk 2077), and of course — cake! These will definitely be moments we’ll carry with us for a long time and for the best of reasons. And we wrote it all down, too, with an event recap and photos available right here, if you’d like to check out for yourself what a CD PROJEKT RED community party looks like, and why it’s worth being an active member alongside this fantastic bunch.

We’re starting to tear up here, so it’s about time to sign off. We’d like to once again thank everyone who’s a part of our community — you’re awesome, stay awesome! And as we are now fully in our twenties, with the number 21 creeping up next year, we just want you to know we’re proud of every year we add on top, and that we’re doing so in great company — you. Here’s to many more wonderful years together!
